Job Summary
Facilitate student learning activities in PLC and robotics courses, developing lesson plans for classroom and laboratory settings while monitoring progress through formal and informal assessments. Direct skill development and leadership training to ensure students achieve employability and industry credential assessment readiness. Coordinate with employers for real-world experiences and assist with curriculum development, scheduling, and advisory committee meetings. Teach evening classes spanning 4-5 weeks, two nights weekly, at the Upper Valley Career Center in Ohio.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years' work experience in field of expertise OR Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in field of expertise plus 3 years' work experience in the industrial maintenance and machine repair profession with PLC experience
- Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check
- Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Experience with Control Logix 5000, Logix Pro, RS Logix and HMI software preferred
- Experience with setting up relay logic and VFD's (variable frequency drives) preferred
- Candidates with Siemens PLC experience will also be considered
- Robotics experience in theory and application
- FANUC & Yaskawa/Motoman experience a plus
