Job Summary
Teach and support adults in GED preparation, covering math, writing, reading, social studies, and science; create and implement lesson plans; assess student progress and place learners into appropriate levels; conduct intake for new participants; maintain accurate student records; promote the program and recruit through schools and community groups; provide support services or referrals as needed; ensure alignment with Aspire policies and district requirements. Classes meet 5:00 PM–8:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with occasional Wednesday evenings; position involves preparing adult learners for post-secondary enrollment or employment opportunities. Bachelor’s degree required (Education, Counseling, or Social Work preferred); Ohio licensure/permit needed; background checks and health screenings required; contract is one year with potential renewal; compensation is $26.00/hour on an as-needed basis, up to 839 hours in an academic year.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree is required. A Bachelor Degree in Education, Counseling, or Social Work is preferred.
- Holds or is able to obtain a valid Ohio State Board of Education Adult Education Permit appropriate for the assignment.
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
- Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check and complete District requirements for employment.
