Job Summary
Teach adult learners in the Aspire program, delivering instruction in math, writing, reading, social studies, and science for GED/WorkKeys preparation; develop and implement individualized learning plans, assess student progress, maintain records, conduct intake for new participants, promote the program, and recruit students through local schools and community networks; hours include Tue/Thu 5PM–8PM and select Wednesdays every 6th week 5PM–8PM; require bachelor’s degree (education/counseling/social work preferred), ability to obtain Ohio educator license or adult education permit, background checks, health screenings, and adherence to Aspire policies and professional development requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree required (Education, Counseling or Social Work preferred)
- Experience teaching adult learners preferred
- Experience teaching basic math skills, algebra and geometry preferred
- Able to pass BCI/FBI background check and district employment requirements
- Able to obtain valid Ohio license/certificate or adult education permit
- Meets all mandated health screening requirements
- Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules and policies
- Professional Development requirements for Aspire program employment
- Licensure Code of Conduct for Ohio Educators
- Contractual appointment with potential renewal
- Salary placement per Adult Education Intermittent/Hourly Salary Schedule
