Job Summary
Overnight Support Advocate for an emergency shelter, delivering after-hours care and crisis intervention to residents. Responsibilities include maintaining the shelter, assisting residents with basic needs, documenting interactions by shift end, replenishing supplies, cleaning/restocking bedding, and preparing rooms for new residents. Responsibilities also cover creating a safe, inclusive environment, promoting wellness and safety, and collaborating with Shelter Facilities Support for post-departure room prep. Preferred Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field; strong trauma-informed, client-centered approaches, active listening, advocacy, case management, and collaboration with diverse populations are essential. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work an overnight shift (Tuesdays–Thursdays, 10:30pm–8:30am). Must embrace DVIS’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism and possess or obtain a valid Oklahoma driver’s license; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
