Job Summary
Advocate provides trauma-informed, relational advocacy and case management for survivors, handling immediate crisis response, safety planning, and coordination of ongoing services in alignment with program, state, and federal standards. Requires 2-3 years of case management/crisis intervention experience, reliable personal vehicle for mobile work, approximately 75% regional travel (including overnight), on-call rotations, and after-hours/weekend crisis coverage. Responsibilities include documentation, risk assessment, engaging children and families, stakeholder coordination, and maintaining compliance with agency and licensing requirements while delivering family preservation and crisis-intervention services. Must be able to respond to emergencies at any time and meet tight deadlines; travel and field-based work with BCFS Health and Human Services system in Texas. English required; Spanish a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years case management and/or crisis intervention experience
- Personal or professional experience with victims of human trafficking, victims of child abuse and neglect, or youth experiencing homelessness and/or addiction
- Reliable personal vehicle and ability to meet a 90-minute crisis response timeframe
- Ability to travel within the region with occasional overnight travel
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Ability to respond to emergencies at any time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Maintain documentation within program-required timelines
- Provide trauma-informed, relational advocacy and coordination of services across agencies
- Ability to coordinate referrals, service planning, and documentation for an assigned caseload
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed
- Meet all deadlines established by program supervisors and partners
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety protocols and confidentiality requirements
- Possess current auto insurance and proof of work eligibility
- Pass pre-employment and biennial background checks and drug screenings
- Possess or maintain required licenses and certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR)
- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time within the region, including overnight stays
- Bilingual ability is a plus (Spanish)
