Job Summary
Provide individual advocacy, crisis intervention, and culturally responsive support to victims and survivors of domestic violence, ensuring equitable and trauma-informed services. Conduct on-site coverage at the Worcester Police Department for victim follow-up and assist with restraining orders, elder abuse, and child abuse petitions. Collaborate with law enforcement, the District Attorney's Office, and community partners to develop safety plans and connect clients with resources for housing, legal, and health needs. Maintain accurate statistical data and confidential documentation of all case activities while representing the YWCA at community outreach events. Participate in multidisciplinary response teams and staff trainings focused on racial justice and cultural humility.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent organizational abilities
- Knowledge and experience in domestic violence advocacy
- Knowledge and experience in crisis intervention
- Knowledge and experience in victim services
- Familiarity with criminal justice processes
- Understanding of high-risk cases in domestic violence situations
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Understanding of cultural sensitivities
- Ability to remain calm and composed in crisis situations
