Job Summary

Advocate for individuals with disabilities on the Institutional Rights and Civil Liberties Team, based in El Paso. Responsibilities include conducting client interviews, monitoring facilities, investigating complaints, determining service eligibility, drafting letters, complaints and case notes, and providing advocacy and negotiation support under attorney supervision. Contributes to outreach and training, manages an assigned caseload with thorough documentation, communicates with clients and stakeholders, and develops case strategies in collaboration with supervising attorneys. Travel within Texas up to ~40% may be required. Requires collaboration with team members, adherence to laws and program requirements, and ongoing professional development.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Studies, Social Services, or related field
  • two (2) years of relevant experience working with individuals with disabilities; or Four (4) years of equivalent related experience
