Job Summary
Support the Government Relations & Public Policy Manager in advancing SAVE's mission through policy research, budget monitoring, and coalition development across state and federal levels. Monitor strategic partnership opportunities with organizations like NSPAN and CSPPI, manage shared documents, and conduct outreach to prospective partners in infrastructure and survivor communities. Execute advocacy activities by developing communication materials, cultivating relationships with volunteers and community members, and activating teams for days of action. Track key performance indicators, analyze advocacy data to measure effectiveness, and coordinate timelines and deliverables while maintaining advocacy-related documentation. This three-month hybrid internship begins in the Bloomington office and requires a passion for suicide prevention and public policy.
Required Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, social sciences, public administration)
- College seniors, graduate students, or recent graduates with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, social sciences, public administration) who seek policy and advocacy experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in using productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
- Passion for and commitment to the mission and values of SAVE
- 3-month temporary position (start and end dates are flexible)
- Hybrid schedule from SAVE's Bloomington office location
