Job Summary
Advocacy, External Engagement and Partnerships Director at World Vision Burundi oversees national advocacy planning, external engagement with policymakers, UN and CSOs, and strategic partnerships to advance child well-being. Responsibilities include developing and leading the national advocacy strategy, integrating advocacy across technical programs, coaching the policy and advocacy team, coordinating with national and regional stakeholders, and ensuring campaigns and policy positions align with organizational priorities.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in public policy, law, Social Science, Governance, Development Studies, or relevant discipline
- 10 years’ experience in the area of programming, advocacy, external engagement and networking of which 5 must be at leadership level with experience of working in child protection, PSEA, GBV, or safeguarding areas
- Experience of managing micro-macro linkages in working with community groups, networks and government agencies
- Experience of managing empowering partnerships and other relationships
- Experience of developing proposals and coordinating ideas for managing donor relationships
- Strong understanding of child protection systems, child protection programs, child protection in HEA, gender and advocacy
- Good knowledge of UNHCR and other relevant international and regional human rights standards protecting the rights of children
- Ability to train and mentor others in advocacy, child protection and gender knowledge, skills, attitudes and programming approaches
- Strong relationship building/network capacity, excellent communication skills, spiritual maturity in Christian faith
