Job Summary
Advocacy and Recruitment Specialist (Remote) focused on establishing partnerships with disease advocacy groups, identifying patients and caregivers for storytelling opportunities, and contributing content for online media. Key duties include building relationships with patients and caregivers, maintaining HIPAA-compliant handling of health information, identifying candidate patients via online channels and social platforms, leveraging Salesforce for data tracking and reporting, and collaborating across internal teams to improve recruitment initiatives. Strong listening, written and verbal communication, empathy toward patients with rare or chronic diseases, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva/Adobe/Shutterstock, and social media are essential. The role requires balancing independent remote work with team collaboration and managing multiple projects to meet client objectives, while adhering to privacy and data security policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
- 5 to 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external contributors
- Working knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, X and Pinterest
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Canva, Adobe, Shutterstock
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work under deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Fluency in foreign language is a plus
- Valid driver’s license; passport may be necessary
- Ability to anticipate hurdles and lead teams across multiple projects
- Detail-oriented with excellent time-management skills
- Ability to identify and source prospective patient candidates through online channels
- Ability to build relationships with patients and caregivers
- Empathy and compassion in patient communications
- Experience with Salesforce data collection and reporting
- Understanding of HIPAA privacy guidelines
- Ability to operate in remote or collaborative environments
- Ability to travel as required
- Knowledge of pharma/biotech industry documents
