Job Summary
Provide insight on National Sedimentation Laboratory historical and current projects while assisting with data organization, statistical analyses, interpretation, and collection/storage infrastructure. Manage 50% of duties by harmonizing, analyzing, and interpreting soil, plant, crop production, and hydrologic data from Long-Term Agroecosystem Research and Conservation Effects Assessment Projects. Handle 45% of responsibilities through reporting, archiving, and public sharing of long-term project data. Advise on maintenance and improvement of field data collection infrastructure. Requires 35 years of soil science research experience or a PhD, proficiency in SAS and Microsoft Office, and light field mobility. This onsite role supports the USDA Agricultural Research Service Experienced Worker Program.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 35 year(s) of experience in soil science research
- PhD Degree in Soil Science
- Scientific knowledge of water, soil, agronomy, and agricultural systems
- Experience with equipment, experimental methods (processing, laboratory analyses, and field design)
