Job Summary
Direct daily work on client accounting and advisory engagements, including planning, coordinating, and supervising various phases of projects. Begin reviewing staff work to ensure deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with engagement objectives, while effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance. Provide performance feedback, complete evaluations for staff, and identify operational improvements or risks to present to senior management. Develop strong relationships with client personnel, assess satisfaction, and adapt engagement approaches to changing client needs. Manage overtime through collaboration with the team and actively work toward passing the CPA exam or obtaining relevant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, and/or an undergraduate or graduate degree with sufficient coursework to qualify to become licensed as a CPA
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
- A strong dedication to teamwork, leadership, and client service
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and develop staff
- Integrity within the professional environment
- Ability to adapt to work schedule and job requirements, including some travel and hours beyond the standard workday as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Government and non-profit experience preferred
- CPA preferred, other relevant certifications (e.g., CGFM, CFE, CITP) encouraged
- Begin reviewing staff work, ensuring deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with engagement scope and objectives
- Begin acquiring public speaking and presentation skills
- Manage overtime effectively to complete assigned tasks through collaboration with the engagement team
- Actively work towards passing the CPA exam and/or obtaining other relevant professional certifications (e.g., CGFM, CFE, CITP) as appropriate
