Advisory Consultant - Procurement

Job Summary
Lead and/or support sector-leading procurement advisory projects for infrastructure and construction, shaping delivery models, contract strategies, and route-to-market. Manage competitive procurement processes from market engagement, supplier shortlisting, tender development, and evaluation to negotiation. Provide advisory input on commercial aspects, category management, and performance management; contribute to proposals and work-winning activities; collaborate across multi-discipline teams to deliver high-value client outcomes. Requires five years post-qualification experience in procurement of complex construction/infrastructure projects, strong communication skills, and experience across strategic sourcing and contract management. Desirable MCIPS or MRICS accreditation; hybrid work options available in Glasgow, UK.
Required Qualifications
- Five years post-qualification knowledge and experience leading the procurement of complex construction and infrastructure projects
- Experience managing the procurement lifecycle from sourcing through to contract management
- Proven project / programme management experience including ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Possess strong people skills and be an effective communicator, able to influence, challenge and establish yourself as a trusted advisor
- Experience in strategic sourcing, category management and contract management
- Desirable: MCIPS or MRICS accreditation
- Awareness of procuring under public sector regulations (Procurement Act 2023 or equivalent)
- Awareness of standard form contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
