Advisory Consultant - Procurement

Job Summary
Strategic procurement advisory role supporting complex construction and infrastructure projects across UK and Ireland. Lead or support sector-leading procurement initiatives, design optimal delivery and contract strategies, manage competitive procurement processes from market engagement to tender management and negotiation, advise on commercial aspects and performance management, support bid activities and help expand AECOM’s strategic procurement service offering. Hybrid work option available with a mix of office, remote location, or client site; strong emphasis on stakeholder management, people skills, and ability to act as a trusted advisor. January onboarding requirement noted for new hires in a secure recruitment process. The role emphasizes delivering high-value, multi-discipline procurement solutions for infrastructure programs, with exposure to public sector regulations and various standard form contracts.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years post-qualification knowledge and experience leading the procurement of complex construction and infrastructure projects
- Experience managing the procurement lifecycle from sourcing through to contract management
- Proven project / programme management experience including ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Possess strong people skills and be an effective communicator, able to influence, challenge and establish yourself as a trusted advisor
- Experience in areas such as strategic sourcing, category management and contract management
- Desirable but not required: MCIPS or MRICS accreditation
- Awareness of procuring under public sector regulations (Public Contracts Regulations, Capital Works Management Framework, Infrastructure Guidelines)
- Awareness of standard form contracts (PWC, NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
- In-person day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
