Job Summary
Advisor or Senior Advisor in Defence & Security located in Ottawa. Role involves government relations, public policy, procurement, and stakeholder engagement with clients operating at the intersection of policy and national security. Responsibilities include identifying policy and procurement opportunities, providing strategic advice on government engagement, preparing briefing notes and policy papers, and developing strategic communications for government and industry audiences. The candidate should have 2–5+ years of experience in related fields, be comfortable engaging with elected officials and procurement authorities, and build trusted client relationships while monitoring legislative and regulatory developments. English fluency required; French competency is an asset. Full-time position with salary range CAD 72k–122k CAD; hybrid work environment offered. Ability to lobby at the federal level is required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience 2–5+ years in government relations, public policy, public affairs, defence, security, procurement, or a related field.
- Experience engaging with elected officials, public servants, and procurement authorities.
- Ability to synthesize policy and procurement information into written products.
- Ability to build relationships across government, industry, and defence/security communities.
- Ability to lobby and navigate federal decision-making processes.
