Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct security operations for Vancouver Coastal Health, acting as the primary "Duty Officer" for all Protection Services events. Liaise with Protection Services Managers, Coordinators, frontline Relational Security staff, and contracted security services to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards. Provide leadership and direction to a team of security officers, including Relational Security Officers and Supervisors, while serving as a resource to key site contacts. Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to enhance services with sensitivity to diversity and Indigenous perspectives. Travel to assigned sites within VCH to provide coverage and identify emerging initiatives that meet service level agreements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in criminal justice/law enforcement, business administration, related social sciences discipline with specialized training in security, fire safety, emergency management, occupational safety, and risk management
- three (3) to five (5) years' progressive experience in a large multi-union organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Eligible to hold OFA2 and AST certificates
- hold a valid security license
- Valid BC driver's licence, with a clean driving record
- Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check

- Proficiency in MS Office and related software applications
