Job Summary
Support students through initial and ongoing contact to secure financial aid, ensure paperwork submission, and navigate the aid process by clarifying steps and reviewing status. Educate borrowers on rights, FAFSA completion, loan decisions, and funding options while recognizing hidden barriers and offering creative solutions. Position UTI benefits against student needs to confirm value and gain agreement. Manage assigned workloads using various tools to achieve milestones in the financial aid process, ensuring accurate, timely administration compliant with state and federal regulations. Collaborate proactively with Admissions, Students Services, Education, Employment Services, and Accounting teams to improve show rates, retention, and student satisfaction. Future Advisors project upcoming starts with Admissions, while Active Advisors determine continuation and graduation likelihood with Student Affairs.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in customer service or sales
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds or less 5% of the workday
- Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday
- Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday
- Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods throughout the workday
- Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday
Desired Qualifications
- Some college courses
- 2 years Financial Aid experience
- Bilingual Spanish
- Computer Skills (Word, Excel and SharePoint)

- Professional communication Skills (verbal and written)
