Job Summary
Advisor, EHS based in Edmonton, responsible for promoting health, safety and environmental culture across Aecon projects; conducts employee health and safety orientations, site-specific safety orientations, and training (fall protection, confined space entry, WHMIS, respiratory protection, emergency response); coordinates safety training (WHMIS, First Aid), conducts workplace inspections and audits, develops emergency plans, leads safety presentations, supports Joint Health and Safety Committees, conducts incident investigations, and assists with injury/claims processes; requires minimum 3 years in construction health and safety and strong knowledge of OH&S regulations; position anchored in Edmonton with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity and safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in construction health and safety
- OHS experience within Utilities or Construction projects is an asset
- Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety act and Regulations for Construction Projects
- Strong knowledge of WHMIS, Asbestos in Construction, Designated Substances, Smoking in the Workplace
- Ability to work with limited supervision and be proactive
- Champions of inclusion and diversity
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule
- Valid G driver's license
