Job Summary
Teach youth aged 16-24 in welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW per D.1.1 structural welding code. Provide direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas while motivating and counseling students on behavior, training, and study habits. Coordinate with counselors to resolve issues affecting student training and develop lessons aligned with approved curriculum guidelines. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe training environment. Requires Utah teaching certificate with welding endorsement, 6G certification, and experience with youth. Full-time 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and professional development assistance.
Required Qualifications
- HSD/ GED
- Utah state teaching certificate with an endorsement in Welding
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Certified Welding Educator (CWE) through American Welding Society (AWS)
- National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certified Craft Instructor
- 6G Certification in SMAW and GMAW
- 6G Certification in FCAW-G
- Familiarity with the American Petroleum Institute (API) code
- Experience with youth
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Computer proficiency
- Valid driver license
- Acceptable driving record
- Must be available for weekend shifts
