Job Summary
Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic tasked with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks in swing shift. Lead by example, mentor fellow technicians, and ensure repairs meet high safety, quality, and reliability standards. Responsibilities include analyzing complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, determining the best repair strategies, and executing repairs or rebuilds on engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. Work alongside other technicians in a well-supported shop environment to maximize uptime and get trucks back on the road quickly and correctly the first time. Requires 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair
- Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Cummins and MX software experience preferred
- Self-motivation and assertiveness
- Ability to work under little or no supervision
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Must provide own tools
