Job Summary
Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks. Lead by example, mentor other technicians, analyze complex mechanical/electronic malfunctions, determine repair strategies, and perform repairs/rebuilds on engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical and air systems. Monday–Friday nights (1:30pm–10pm) in a shop setting with emphasis on safety, quality, and uptime. Requires 5+ years of hands-on experience across makes/models, tool ownership, and strong communication with customers. Kenworth shop environment with training and benefits outlined by Pape’ Kenworth.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working on medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks (engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC, chassis)
- Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred
- Basic computer knowledge; Cummins and MX software experience preferred
- Self-motivation and assertiveness
- Ability to work under little or no supervision
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Must provide own tools
