Job Summary
Lead Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic in a shop diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks with emphasis on engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical and air systems. Mentor and support other technicians, analyze complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, determine repair strategies, and execute repairs or rebuilds to maximize uptime. Monday–Friday nights (1:30pm–10pm) at Pape’ Kenworth in French Camp, CA, with a focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair
- Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
- Cummins and MX software experience preferred
- Self-motivation and assertiveness
- Ability to work under little or no supervision
- Excellent communication and customer relations skills
- Must provide own tools
