Job Summary
Design, build, integrate, test, deploy, and improve software services and platforms within a cross-functional agile team. Develop and participate in the QA/test approach for a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environment, executing automated and manual back-end and UI tests. Qualify new features on supported platforms, implement sprint-cycle automated tests, and verify installations with acceptance tests. Track bugs and participate in development meetings while applying standards throughout the system development life cycle. This role requires a Secret security clearance at hire and U.S. citizenship. Flex work schedule allows 3-4 days per week onsite at the customer site in Boulder, CO, with an optional 9/80 rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Master's degree
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- U.S. Government security investigation eligibility
- I&T Engineer role
- Strong software background
- Experience on large solution programs
- Worked as an I&T Engineer on a complex software system
- Understands DOD domain/programs well
- Demonstrated capability to think at a Systems Level
- Growth mindset
- Space domain, especially OPIR, experience
- Design, build, integrate, test, deploy, and improve software services and platforms
- Work closely with engineering leadership to ensure quality is built in early and is testable
- Develop and participate in the QA/test approach, methodology, and process for a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment
- Test applications through automated and manual back-end functions as well as through UI
- Qualify all new features by testing on supported platforms and configurations
- Implement, execute and troubleshoot automated tests during the sprint cycles
- Verify installations with acceptance tests, track bugs, and participate in development meetings
- Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products
- Support and develop our technical culture by being engaged, intellectually curious, friendly, motivated to solve complex problems, and inspired to deliver superior user-centered software solutions
- Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems
- Demonstrated strength in designing and implementing automated test solutions
- Expertise in Test Automation using Selenium, Test Complete, Cucumber, Apache JMeter or similar tools
- Strong command of Python programming
- Solid understanding of Behavioral Driven Development (BDD) principles and practices
- Deep knowledge of test methodologies, writing I&T plans, creating test cases and debugging
- Working knowledge of application deployment tools such as Ansible
- Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or Gitlab Runner
- Experience with Junit-Mockito, Apache HTTPD Server, and Spring Boot
- Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux Environments
- Familiarity with Cloud Computing and IaaS environments such as the Red Hat Open Stack Platform (RHOSP), Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
- Familiarity with Container technologies such as Docker and/or Orchestration technologies such as Rancher/Kubernetes
- Full use and understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
- Effective communication and attention to detail
- Experience using Agile methodologies
- Detailed and fully proficient knowledge of technology trends and champions new ideas and product and process improvements
- Memory and CPU profiling
- Experience building large-scale mission-critical applications
- Experience with distributed systems
