Job Summary
Design and implement workloads on Cerebras’ Wafer-Scale Engine to push performance benchmarks, lead algorithm–hardware co-design efforts with internal and external partners, build analytical models to identify bottlenecks, and contribute to a multi-year technology roadmap. Role spans large-scale scientific simulations and emergent AI/ML models, requiring collaboration with ASIC, compiler, kernel, and AI teams, plus external universities and national labs. Expected to publish findings at top-tier venues, present at conferences, and influence future Cerebras hardware/software directions. Qualifications emphasize PhD (or equivalent depth), deep expertise in architecture/accelerator design or HPC/AI theory, strong modeling capabilities, demonstrated research output, and proficiency in C and Python; excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related quantitative field preferred; exceptional candidates without a graduate degree with equivalent depth encouraged to apply
- Deep experience in computer architecture and accelerator design, parallel/high-performance computing, numerical methods and scientific simulation, or AI/ML theory and model design at a mathematical level
- Strong ability to analytically model and optimize performance of complex systems and algorithms
- Track record of published research or patents in relevant venues
- Proficiency in C and Python; ability to work close to hardware
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
