Job Summary
Advanced SQL Database Administrator responsible for maintaining SQL Server databases across production environments, Azure-based databases, and migrating workloads to PaaS/SaaS. Supports troubleshooting of availability, performance, and capacity issues; manages SQL Server jobs and Windows scheduled tasks; performs upgrades and migrations for IaaS SQL Servers; automates routine tasks using PowerShell, SQL, .NET, etc. Location anchored to Dallas, TX with in-office presence and an option to work remotely after 90 days with at least one in-person engagement monthly; relocation available for non-local candidates. Must collaborate with ISN Products team to ensure uptime and reliability for multiple web applications written in ASP.NET and support over 300 databases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experience
- Azure certifications strongly preferred (AZ-900, DP-300)
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting SQL Server availability issues related to clustering, Always On, SQL replication
- 3+ years of experience managing SQL jobs, including database maintenance jobs (backups, index maintenance)
- 1+ years of experience administering SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
- 1+ years experience administering and supporting Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance
- 1+ years managing SQL Servers using PowerShell
- Strong knowledge of high availability and data movement technologies such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Change Data Capture, SQL Replication, SQL Clustering, disaster recovery concepts (RPO/RTO)
