Job Summary
Portfolio Manager to shape and grow the International Higher Education portfolio by translating market needs, educator and learner challenges, and customer insights into clear portfolio strategies and go-to-market plans. Collaborate across Product, Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Production, and Operations to identify opportunities, strengthen product performance, and deliver solutions that create meaningful value for customers. Build deep expertise in the portfolio’s discipline, monitor industry trends and competition, lead market research initiatives, support go-to-market execution, engage authors and subject matter experts, and foster an engaging customer experience for new digital products and early adopter communities. Requires strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, data-driven decision making, and experience in education and portfolio management.
Required Qualifications
- Strong alignment with Pearson’s culture and values
- Solid understanding of product or portfolio management principles and processes
- Experience in education and learning, ideally within higher education
- Strong market research and analytical skills, including experience with surveys, focus groups, customer feedback, and data interpretation
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence across cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Sound judgment and the ability to make informed decisions independently
- Experience in customer engagement, relationship management, and community building
- Creative problem-solving skills and a strong sense of empathy for learners and educators
- Familiarity with digital content development, digital courseware, or instructional design is a plus
