Job Summary
Advanced Sonographer at Mercy operates ultrasound imaging equipment and related software to support diagnostics, serves as a lead/resource when leadership is unavailable, and participates in training. Requires proficiency in imaging procedures, patient safety, communication with patients and healthcare professionals, and knowledge of QA/accreditation standards. Role emphasizes ability to produce diagnostic images, recognize technical abnormalities, and adapt to fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environments. Must be capable of leading and coordinating daily operations, with strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of Sonography and completed required clinical hours
- 2 years of relevant experience
- State licensure may be required depending on the state of practice
- ARDMS/ARRT/CCI and 3 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area OR 2 applicable advanced registries/certifications within the applicable work area and 5 years of applicable experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Additional Requirements
- In Arkansas, ARDMS-RVT OR CCI-RVS OR ARRT-VS may be required within 12 months of hire and/or transfer depending on scope of role
