Advanced Production Machine Operator

Job Summary

Operate automated food processing, mixing, and packaging equipment while safely loading raw materials using overhead lifting devices. Monitor machine performance to maintain quality and efficiency, inspect finished products for operational issues, and troubleshoot minor equipment problems. Serve as a technical resource by training and mentoring Machine Operators on safety procedures, quality standards, and best practices. Clean and sanitize all equipment and work areas in accordance with GMPs and HACCP requirements. Accurately complete production and quality documentation while following company safety policies and PPE protocols. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm at the New Britain, CT facility.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 to 5 years of experience operating production, processing, packaging, or manufacturing equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment issues and making operational adjustments to maintain production efficiency and product quality
  • Basic computer skills, including experience using production reporting systems, electronic documentation, or Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production targets
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other equipment as required
  • Must be able to work in areas with varying temperatures common to food manufacturing and production environments
  • Must be able to regularly work around operating machinery and equipment in environments with elevated noise levels
  • Must be able to work in areas where floors can become wet during production and sanitation activities

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical, vocational, or trade school training in manufacturing, industrial operations, mechanical systems, or a related field
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or other workplace safety certifications
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food manufacturing safety standards
  • Strong communication skills and can effectively train employees with varying levels of experience
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality
  • Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation
