Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, interpret diagnostic procedures, and formulate differential diagnoses for orthopedic patients. Perform minor procedures including wound management and injections, while implementing therapeutic interventions and prescribing medications. Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to develop care plans, manage discharge planning, and document admission and progress notes. Provide patient education, participate in research and quality assurance, and maintain coding compliance. Requires a Master's degree, ONP-C certification, and 2+ years of acute care experience. Full-time Monday through Friday schedule with a salary range of $101,000 to $156,000.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree as Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) from an accredited program
- Eligibility to obtain Orthopaedic NP specialty certification (ONP‐C) to demonstrate orthopedic specialty knowledge
- Current Minnesota license and board certification -National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification
- Active NP or PA licensure
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in acute care or surgical setting
- Proficiency in EMR documentation and medical coding
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in orthopedics, or inpatient hospital medicine
- Familiarity with orthopedic devices, injections, and minor procedures
- Strong patient education and triage skills
