Job Summary
Review and evaluate clinical information from referring physicians to admit patients for infusion procedures. Develop initial plans of care for newly referred patients, monitor treatment progress, and make necessary adjustments. Perform physical exams, review lab reports, and request additional diagnostic studies as needed. Document infusion orders and clinical notes in the electronic medical record while recognizing situations requiring immediate physician attention. Delegate responsibilities to staff nurses and provide patient education to prospective patients and referring providers.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current license to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the state in which service is provided.
- Must have current DEA license.
- Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills to identify and address patient needs
- Intermediate computer skills, MS Office
- Strong time management skills and ability to work independently to deliver key results
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and high degree of professional ethic, knowledge of confidential and regulatory compliance practices.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
- ONCC/CRNI Certification preferred
- Rheumatology and/or infusion experience preferred, but not required.
- 1-3 years in a clinic setting preferred.
