Job Summary
Advanced Practice Student, CNS Track in Pediatric Cardiac Services at OU Health. The role supports and/or serves as a learning clinical expert in evidence-based practice for a specific patient population; assists with nursing research; designs and evaluates care programs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team; provides leadership and participates in committees and projects system-wide; requires active enrollment in a MSN/CNS program and an RN license with 2 years of RN experience, plus BLS certification; upon graduation, APRN licensure must be obtained within 90 days. The program emphasizes patient-centered care, professional nursing theory and practice, education, and collaboration within OU Health’s multidisciplinary environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
- Currently enrolled and completing requirements through an approved school of nursing for a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist program
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Patient Care
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Upon graduation, certification recognized by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse must be acquired within 90 days
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire
