Advanced Practice Student in the CNS Track for Pediatric Acute Care. This program targets individuals who are completing requirements for a Master’s Degree in Nursing in a Clinical Nurse Specialist track and seeks to expose the student to CNS practice within a multidisciplinary pediatric care setting. The role involves functioning as a learning clinical expert in evidence-based practice, supporting and/or conducting nursing research, developing and evaluating care programs for the assigned patient population, providing leadership to advance nursing practice, and serving as a change agent through coaching and committee involvement. Applicants should be enrolled in an accredited MSN CNS program, hold a BSN, have 2 years of RN patient-care experience, hold or obtain RN licensure in Oklahoma (or a compact license), and obtain APRN certification within 90 days of graduation. Knowledge/skills include nursing theory and practice, care coordination, communication, cultural and language responsiveness, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
