Job Summary
Advanced Practice Student CNS Track in Adult Neurology Services is a program for students pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nursing (Clinical Nurse Specialist) who will gain exposure to clinical areas and multidisciplinary teams, including nursing leadership and physician colleagues. The role involves functioning as a learning clinical expert in evidence-based practice within the patient population, supporting and designing care programs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, leading in nursing practice advancement, and acting as a change agent through coaching and committee participation. Minimum requirements include a BSN, current RN licensure in Oklahoma (or compact license), enrollment in an MSN CNS program with certification to be licensed as an APRN within 90 days of graduation, and BLS. The position emphasizes professional nursing theory, organization and evaluation of nursing services, communication, and preparing for practice in a traditional CNS role. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Currently enrolled and completing requirements through an approved school of nursing for a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Clinical Nurse Specialist program
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Patient Care
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- Certification recognized by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing to be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse within 90 days of graduation (if not achieved, may be considered for another position)
- Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification upon hire
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures
