Job Summary
Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including history, mental status exams, and suicide risk evaluations, to diagnose and manage mental health and co-occurring substance use conditions. Conduct medical screenings, order diagnostic tests, and prescribe psychotropic medications while monitoring client response and adjusting regimens as needed. Provide immediate psychiatric support during behavioral health emergencies, lead de-escalation efforts, and collaborate with the Behavioral Emergency Response Team to ensure safe outcomes. Develop individualized treatment plans, document clinical interventions in the electronic health record, and coordinate care from admission to discharge for individuals in acute crises. Maintain licensure as a PMHNP-BC in Georgia and adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, and agency regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Current licensure as an APRN in the State of Georgia with a psychiatric/mental health specialty (PMHNP-BC)
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority in Georgia
- Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in a psychiatric setting
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- May require occasional lifting to 25 pounds
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
- Pre-employment drug screening and successful completion of a criminal history background check
