Job Summary
Psychiatric APRN or PA sought for BH OP Med Clinic in Kansas City. The role provides direct care to patients with serious and persistent mental illnesses, including taking health histories, performing psychiatric and physical exams, developing care plans, prescribing medications under supervising physician guidelines, collaborating with physicians and the care team, ensuring accurate documentation, and staying current with industry standards and compliance. Requires Master’s-level education in nursing or physician assistant program, appropriate licensure/certification in Missouri, and 3–5 years of relevant clinical experience; on-site, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule with occasional on-call duties; emphasis on compassionate, patient-centered care and collaborative practice.
Required Qualifications
- Master's in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Active RN license in Missouri and Nurse Practitioner certification or PA certification
- Nurse Practitioner certification or National PA Certification (NCCPA)
- Missouri PA licensure (for PA role) and/or active Collaborative Practice Agreement as applicable
- 3–5 years of clinical experience (preferably in mental health or primary care)
- psychiatry specialty certification (as required by Missouri Board of Nursing for APRNs) or equivalent
- Active Collaborative Practice Agreement (for APRN) and BCLS certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain Missouri PA licensure and related regulatory requirements
- Orientation to and ability to work within psychiatric behavioral health care standards
- Strong communication, diagnostic, leadership, and team-based care skills
- Knowledge of MO regulations for prescribing medications and supervision requirements
