Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, order diagnostic tests, and diagnose/treat diseases and injuries for patients under physician supervision. Prescribe medications and therapies, instruct patients on home care and follow-up, and direct ancillary health care staff during treatment. Compile medical data into electronic records and report required information to governmental authorities. Respond to inquiries regarding preventive health and treatments while demonstrating expertise in clinical protocols and best practices. Work within the scope of credentialing privileges and adhere to Joint Commission accreditation standards and all federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain appropriate credentials/licensure and complete mandatory training.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Physician Assistants OR Master's degree from an accredited School of Nursing
- Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas OR unrestricted license to practice Nursing in the State of Texas/current credentialing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- Current certification in area of specialty
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for the purpose of writing prescriptions
- Current Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through American Heart Association
- Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association
