Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider in Urgent Care is responsible for performing clinical patient care services under the supervision of physicians, including evaluating and identifying patient problems, conducting history and physical examinations, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, monitoring patient status, and providing education and counseling to patients. The provider will also supervise NP, PA, health science, and medical students as appropriate, ensuring they comply with medical staff regulations. Physical demands include the ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and lift over 100 lbs occasionally. Candidates must hold relevant master's degrees and current certifications as per licensure requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing and completion of an approved course of study as a nurse practitioner
- Master's degree as a physician assistant and completion of an approved course of study as a physician assistant
- Current NCCPA certification and D.C. licensure as a Physician Assistant
- Current ANCC certification and D.C. licensure as an NP
