Job Summary
Inpatient psychiatric services role for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) central to a team of on-site board-certified psychiatrists. Responsibilities include taking medical histories, assessing conditions, writing reports, and providing care with medication management, psychotherapy sessions, group therapy, family therapy, and relapse prevention. Typical patient load <= 8 per day; Monday–Friday schedule with no on-call. Opportunity to pursue certification to use Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Collaborative care with Medical Director and psychiatric consults to medical/surgical inpatients and ED; strong emphasis on quality improvement and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Nursing or Graduate of an American Medical Association approved Physician Assistant educational program
- 2 years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience in the specified specialty
- Licensed with the Vermont Office of Professional Regulation with advanced certification by a national certifying organization recognized by the Vermont Nursing Board’s scope of practice OR Licensed by the Vermont Medical Board with certification by a national certifying organization recognized by the Vermont Medical Board for scope of practice
- Unit-specific certifications as required per department operational framework
- Endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification per department guidelines
