Job Summary

Conduct evaluations, diagnoses, ongoing assessments, and treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or developmental disabilities. Identify client needs, make treatment plans and referrals, and provide medication management and psycho-educational support in collaboration with existing medical staff. Perform related work as required under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer or designee. This part-time night shift position involves two 12-hour shifts, 24 hours a week, from 8:00 pm to 8:30 am. Candidates must hold a Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program or dual-certified Nurse Practitioner program, with full Michigan licensure, Controlled Substance License, DEA license, and current MCCPA or ANCC certification. Three years of clinical experience in outpatient or inpatient settings is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner that is dual certified (mental health and medical)
  • Fully licensed in the State of Michigan as a Physician Assistant or dual certified Nurse Practitioner
  • Michigan Controlled Substance License
  • Current DEA license
  • Current MCCPA (PA) or ANCC (NP) certification
  • Valid Michigan driver's license
  • Current automobile insurance
  • Use of a vehicle during work hours
  • Three (3) years' experience working as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (dual certified)
  • Three (3) years clinical experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, including assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention in the outpatient or inpatient setting
  • Experience working as a certified Physician Assistant in collaboration with a psychiatrist
  • Ability to visually assess details at both near and far distances, as well as to perceive depth and spatial relationships with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to receive and respond to verbal communication with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs on an occasional basis
  • Ability to regularly stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk at a minimum of 35% up to a maximum of 65%
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, or reach to perform work tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including the use of hands and fingers for handling, grasping, typing, writing, or operating equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
