Advanced Practice Provider – Orthopedics (Hand)

Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider works alongside orthopedic surgeons in clinics, hospital, and operating rooms to assist during orthopedic surgeries (including hand, sports, trauma, and joint replacement), perform pre- and post-operative care, conduct clinic visits and injections, round in hospital, manage documentation in EMR, participate in after-hours call rotations, maintain CME and licensure, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Requires successful completion of an approved PA or NP program and Oregon licensure/certification (NCCPA for PAs; AANC/NCCP/AANP/AMCB for NPs), and ability to obtain/maintain hospital privileges; schedule is minimum 40 hours per week with substantial patient contact.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner course of study and certification as appropriate to the incumbent’s license
- Unrestricted Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Oregon
- Physician Assistant requires NCCPA certification
- Nurse Practitioner requires AANC, NCC or AANP, AMCB certification
- DEA registration in Oregon
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- EMR experience
- Epic EMR experience preferred (not required)
- CPR/AHA certifications as appropriate
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative practice agreements where applicable
- Current CME maintenance and licensure requirements
