Job Summary
Assist in complex pediatric orthopedic surgery cases as the primary surgical first assist while managing patients across the operating room, inpatient floors, emergency department, and outpatient clinics. Obtain comprehensive patient histories, perform detailed physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop evidence-based treatment plans. Direct and participate in comprehensive case management for the vulnerable pediatric population, collaborate with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to quality improvement projects. Participate in clinical research efforts and provide education to patients, families, and healthcare team members. Requires full-time employment with rotating night and weekend on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program
- One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area
- Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington
- Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner
- Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of Washington
- Initial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals
- Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital
Desired Qualifications
- Two years experience in advanced practice provider role
- Two years experience in pediatric health care
