Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive surgical evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and perioperative management for patients with benign breast disease, breast cancer, and hereditary syndromes. Provide independent follow-up care, survivorship management, and symptom treatment within established protocols while coordinating multidisciplinary clinical operations. Deliver education and counseling to patients, families, staff, and the community regarding breast health and cancer care. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, professional development, and resource management to promote exceptional patient outcomes. This role functions as an integral member of the Breast Surgery team under Surgical Oncologist supervision, focusing on state-of-the-art treatments and comprehensive cancer services.
Required Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or equivalent degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Physician Assistant Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Louisiana
- Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- National certification as Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology NP (AGNP), Women's Health NP (WHNP), or other appropriate specialty
- DEA registration (if applicable)
- Louisiana Physician Assistant license
- NCCPA certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software and Crystal Report Writer
- Must type a minimum of 65 wpm
