Job Summary
Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for nocturnist coverage in Hematology/Oncology/BMT. Provides primary or specialty medical care in the inpatient setting, including comprehensive histories and physicals, orders and interpretation of tests, development of treatment plans, patient and family education, documentation in EMR (Epic), and collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary team. Responsible for on-site management during night shifts, sign-out communication with daytime providers, opportunities to participate in clinical research and quality-improvement activities, and ongoing professional development to stay current in the field. Requires Wisconsin RN license, APN/APNP license, and certification requirements (ACLS/BLS, DEA if applicable, NCCPA certification), with credentialing and privileging processes and compliance with CMS/Joint Commission standards. Scheduling includes night shifts (Nocturnist), with adaptability for a 7:00pm-7:00am weekday rotation and weekend/holiday coverage as described; location is Milwaukee, WI in an inpatient hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Wisconsin RN License
- Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
- Certification as Acute Care NP and/or Adult Care NP (preferred)
- DEA registration (if required for the position)
- NCCPA Certification
- ARC-PA-accredited PA program or advanced practice nursing program
- ACLS Certification
- BLS Certification
- CITI Certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Epic or similar EMR documentation experience
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (for NP) or Physician Assistant Studies (for PA)
