Advanced Practice Provider - Hematology and Oncology - Mobile Oncology Unit

Job Summary

Conduct comprehensive oncology care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, care coordination, education, and supervision of chemotherapy infusions. Travel from Richmond to rural FQHC locations across Virginia for mobile clinic hours approximately 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with variable travel time based on site needs. Perform histories and physicals, order and interpret tests, make diagnoses, treat injuries/illness, assist with surgical procedures, counsel patients, and prescribe medication under the collaboration of Attending Physicians. Coordinate patient care across the continuum of services, document all pertinent information, and initiate emergency procedures as required. Serve as a consultant to the multidisciplinary team, participate in research and clinical trials, and maintain appropriate certification requirements to continue VCU Health privileges.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program
  • Current Virginia licensure from the appropriate Board as a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant
  • Current national certification as appropriate for the role
  • Credentialing in accordance with medical staff by-laws for specific job titles
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
  • Three (3) years of previous clinical experience with the population served
