Job Summary
Provide advanced practice critical care across multiple Puget Sound-area hospitals as part of a collaborative Critical Care Service. The APP will manage high-acuity patients, develop and execute treatment plans, perform invasive procedures, and participate in mentorship through the VMFH Critical Care APP Fellowship Program. Responsibilities include patient assessment and diagnosis, ventilator management, central venous and arterial line placement, intubation, and Point of Care Ultrasound. The role supports a night-focused schedule (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with some day shifts, and practice across Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Federal Way, Lakewood, and Burien, WA, under Board Certified physicians and a growing APP cohort, within a large health system that emphasizes professional development and leadership opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Physician Assistant
- At least two years Advanced Practitioner experience in inpatient care (preferably Critical Care)
- Experience with ventilator management, central venous and arterial line placement, intubation and Point of Care Ultrasound preferred
- Washington license, ACLS, and DEA licensing required at the time of starting work
- Fundamentals of Critical Care Support and Palliative Academy in the first year of employment
