Job Summary
Attend interdisciplinary palliative care team meetings and membership in the St. Francis Hospital Ethics Committee. Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, order and titrate medications to relieve symptom burden using evidence-based guidelines, and assist patients and families with completing advanced directives and establishing GOC. Educate patients, families, and staff regarding disease natural history, prognosis, end-of-life expectations, and medication side effects while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical practices. Adhere to confidentiality standards and implement palliative care NP billing standards into daily documentation. Requires BSN, Master's degree in Nursing with NP certification, and current NY NP/RN licenses with BLS and ACLS. Salary range $66.55 - $93.81/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
- Master's Degree in Nursing with specialization as a Nurse Practitioner, and is certified by the ANCC or AANP organizations within 2 years of employment
- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Registered Nurse (RN) licenses in the State of New York
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced life support (ACLS) required American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- willing to obtain Palliative Care certification within approximately 2 years of employment
