Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C) for cardiothoracic surgery. The APP will join a traditional sternotomy-based cardiac and thoracic surgery service, including endoscopic vein harvest, cardiac surgery first assist, robotic thoracic surgery bedside first assist, and ICU/PCU/medical-surgical rounds. Procedures include minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, all lung resection surgeries with DaVinci XI robot, and robotic foregut/esophagus work, within a single-hospital practice. The role emphasizes maintaining high STS quality metrics, collaboration with surgeons and residents, and participation in OR/ICU/ward coverage with opportunities to train in robotics and perioperative care. Certification requirements include CPR/BLS and ACLS (or ability to obtain).
Required Qualifications
- Current WA state license PA (or ability to obtain)
- 1+ years APP cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred
- Endoscopic vein harvest highly preferred
- Open radial harvest – desired, but willing to train
- Robotic thoracic/cardiac surgery – desired, but willing to train
- ICU patient management experience – ventilator, drips, etc.
- CPR/BLS + ACLS – (or ability to obtain) - required
