Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider (PA-C) for cardiothoracic surgery sought to join Virginia Mason Franciscan Health's surgical team. Responsibilities include endoscopic vein harvest, cardiac surgery first assist, Robotic thoracic surgery bedside first assist, and ICU/PCU/medical-surgical rounds. Case mix features traditional sternotomy-based cardiac surgeries, minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, DaVinci XI robotic procedures for lung resections, robotic foregut and esophagus, and occasional general surgery resident rotations. APP-driven service with emphasis on high STS quality metrics, hospital-based OR/ICU/Surgical units; single-hospital practice.
Required Qualifications
- Current WA state license PA (or ability to obtain)
- 1+ years APP cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred
- Endoscopic vein harvest highly preferred
- Open radial harvest – desired, but willing to train
- Robotic thoracic/cardiac surgery – desired, but willing to train
- ICU patient management experience – ventilator, drips, etc.
- CPR/BLS + ACLS – (or ability to obtain) - required
