Job Summary
Advanced Practice Provider role within the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease at Dell Medical School (:: DCMS) in partnership with Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas, focusing on pediatric cardiac critical care. Responsibilities include counseling families, documenting care aligned with standards, staff education, patient history and physical assessments, ordering/performing diagnostic studies, direct treatment and management of cardiac critical conditions with prescriptive authority, and discharge planning. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and adherence to care policies are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
