Job Summary
Conduct patient assessments, manage medical-surgical care, and perform technical procedures including IV insertion, wound care, and assisting in surgery. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, formulate treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians to ensure timely discharge. Document all care in compliance with Clinical Documentation Initiative standards and submit billing forms by shift end. Participate in rounds, manage trauma team responsibilities with ATLS documentation, and handle end-of-life care coordination. Maintain current knowledge of gastroenterology trends and attend required departmental meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of NP educational program approved by the State of New York
- Current NP certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center
- Bachelors and Masters degrees
- Current New York State license as registered nurse and NP
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Nurse Practitioner-NYS
- Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics may be required based on your selected privileges
